About Marti

Meet Marti Henderson, Family Nurse Practitioner

Healthcare has always been about people for me—not appointments, not productivity metrics, and not rushing through visits. My passion is taking the time to truly know my patients, understand what matters most to them, and become a trusted partner in their health for years to come.

As a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, I bring nearly two decades of healthcare experience to every patient interaction. I began my nursing career as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 2007 and have continued to build on that foundation through experience in family medicine, urgent care, healthcare administration, utilization review, genetic laboratory services, quality improvement, and inpatient rehabilitation specializing in brain, spinal cord, and traumatic injuries.

My educational journey includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Leadership from the College of Central Florida, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana State University, and a Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University.

While these experiences have shaped me as a nurse practitioner, my heart has always belonged in primary care. I believe great medicine starts with listening. Every patient has a unique story, and understanding that story is just as important as understanding lab results or diagnoses. My goal is to create a healthcare experience where you feel heard, respected, and genuinely cared for.

I value attention to detail, patient education, and shared decision-making. I want my patients to feel comfortable asking questions, confident in their care plan, and empowered to take an active role in their health. Whether we’re managing chronic conditions, focusing on prevention, or simply navigating life’s unexpected illnesses, I strive to make every visit meaningful and every patient feel like family.

As an Ocala native, I care deeply about serving the community that has shaped my life. It is a privilege to care for the people who live, work, and raise their families here.

Outside of medicine, I’m a proud Gator football fan with lifelong memories of attending games with my grandparents. My significant other, Matt, is also a Family Nurse Practitioner, and together we enjoy raising our blended family of five boys. When we’re not working, you’ll usually find us traveling, on the water, or cheering from the sidelines at a sporting event.

I consider it an honor to care for my patients and look forward to building lasting relationships founded on trust, compassion, and personalized care. My hope is that every person who walks through our doors feels known—not just as a patient, but as a person.
